Windmill Pivot

This paddock is part of the Langhorne Creek property in an area overlooking the beautiful Lake Alexandrina. A pivot is a form of irrigation that utilises a large radial span rotating around a fixed point (pivot). This allows for large-scale irrigation and results in circular fields that can be viewed from the sky. Windmill Pivot is a pivot paddock of some 70 acres that dates back to when the Langhorne Creek property was originally purchased by Eastbrook Vegetable Farms in 2012. There is a large windmill adjacent to the pivot paddock after which it was named. This paddock has a light sandy loam soil.
