Double Gate Pivot
This pivot site is named after the 2 gates which form the entrance to the field. There are 2 gates which create a larger entrance for very wide machinery. This pivot is the furthest point down Dog Lake Road from the pumping station on Dog Lake. It has a 5 km pipeline which supplies the water for irrigation. Much like all the pivot sites at Langhorne Creek the 27 hectares has a mix of very light sandhills with some heavy clay swales. Sand spreading has been done on this site to cover some limestone rock areas as well as improve the clay areas.
